  8. This is a small demonstration of Digital Almanac III, the best planetarium software
  9. available for the Amiga.
  10.  
  11. Please note: Currently only a German documentation is available. An English catalog is supplied,
  12. but no English documentation.

  17. o Any Amiga with at least OS 3.0, MC68020, AGA and some MB free FastRAM.

  23. To get a taste of the real speed, you need a PPC with WarpOS (V15+) and a CGX-compatible
  24. graphic card.
  25. You need the openurl.library to read the manual from within the program.

  28. *** Restrictions of the demonstration ***

  30. o Just some thousand stars limited to +5.5 mag (for information).
  31. o Stars output limited to constellation of Orion.
  32. o No support for the Hubble GSC star catalog.
  33. o Deep-sky database only contains the Messier objects.
  34. o Only one comet in database.
  35. o Time range limited to year 2000.
  36. o No printer output.
  37. o All saving functions are disabled. No screenshots, no saving of animations.
  38. o Only one texture provided for the Moon to show new rendering feature on highcolor screens.
  39. o No Internet-updating for databases.
  40. o Simple looking listviews in the GUI.
  41. o No support for embedding pictures.
  42. o Ephemeris tables limited to 5 rows.
  43. o The 68k demo contains no FPU instructions. So some calculations will be very slow.
  44.   Only the WarpOS demo makes use of the FPU.

  90. Hey folks... I know some of you tried to hack DA II to use the restricted functions when no
  91. keyfile is available.
  92. Forget it here... some thousand code lines concerning the restrictions have been simply removed.
  93. Also forget about using the data files of DA II... no chance.
